Great Wine Writing

It seems that the advent of the internet and the fame and perhaps even the notoriety of many bloggers these days (Perez Hilton anyone?) has lead to an explosion of writing on the internet at the same time so many newspapers are shutting down their food and wine sections, which is truly unfortunate.

Some of course is good and some of course is not.

If youre a huge wine drinker, which I am, then finding a series of quality wine blogs to read and see reviews is a really, really good thing.

Even a great wine of the month club is likely to read reviews to see what people are drinking and talking about in the wine regions which they are not able to visit on a regular basis.

So what wine blogs do I read on a regular basis? It isnt really that easy since I read a lot of California wine blogs, are you only into California wine?

Personally, Id suggest taking some time find your own set of unique and interesting blogs to read. A simple Google search is a great start, but you can also look for writing about some of the wineries which you really, really like. In my opinion, it stands to reason that if a wine blogger has written extensively about a winery which you like, you will probably have a similar palate to them. You can also look through their list of links (every blogger has them) to see other companies and wine blogs which they like. Again, it stands to reason that stylistically these are going to be fairly similar!

Overall there is a lot of wine writing on the web. Some of it is good. Some of it isnt. When you find a good wine blog though, it can help you find great deals on wine, which is a really, really, really good thing!
